An association of 25 cycling-related business along the Lubéron Cycling Circuit are offering cyclists the ability to combine some of the more reassuring features of a package tour with the freedom of independent cycling. The businesses provide cycle and equipment rental and repair, transportation, accommodation, meals, guide services, itineraries and maps. Through Vélo Loisir en Lubéron, cyclists can arrange their own tours, covering as many or as few miles as they choose – self-guided or accompanied – and cherry-pick the services they need: transportation at the beginning and end of tours, transport of luggage between stops, accommodations, meals, snacks, cycle rental, repair and on-the-road sup-port. The upside is freedom to plan a tour that suits individual strengths and interests. If you only want to cycle 10 miles a day, so be it. On the downside, accommodation may be at a more utilitarian level and member hotels may not be in the towns you’d visit if you were completely independent.
